We ensure good communication with parents and carers through the use of:

- Progress reports
- Parent Information Evenings
- Subject Parents’ Evenings
- Letters
- Telephone calls
A parent/carer should:
- Be aware of the different ways in which they can contact the school i.e. telephone, MyEd, letter or email
- Ensure that their contact details are kept updated (including changes to mobile phone numbers, work numbers and home email addresses)
- Regularly check the website and in student planners for term dates and general information
- Be clear about which member of staff they need to contact regarding their concern;
- Let staff know in advance if they cannot attend a pre-arranged meeting
- Always report to reception when arriving on the school site.
- Be contacted by the relevant member of staff within a reasonable length of time (within three working days) depending on the nature of the concern

Who do I contact?
1st Contact – the tutor
2nd Contact – the Head of Year
Initial contact may be made with the Head of Year if the matter is of a serious and/or highly sensitive nature.
3rd Contact – a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Inform the main school office on 01752 402679 in the event of student absence
However, if you need to discuss an attendance or punctuality issue the following route is appropriate

Please note the Headteacher is unlikely to be available to see any visitors unless an appointment has been made.

Contacting the school
Contact the main office directly 01752 402679 and ask to be put through to the relevant member of staff. If they are unavailable a message will be taken and passed to the member of staff. If your child is in the Sixth Form you contact the Sixth Form Centre directly on 01752 495041.
Teachers will be unable to receive or make calls during registration periods or when teaching.
Depending on the nature of the concern, a reply should be made by the member of staff concerned within three working days.
