Dear Parents and carers
Following tonight’s statement by the Prime Minister at 8pm that the country has now gone back into a national lockdown.
All students, in all year groups, with the exception of critical workers/vulnerable pupils, will move to remote learning until February Half Term.
For those in Year 11 and 13, we are awaiting further information following the statement that “ We recognise this will mean it’s not possible or fair for all exams to go ahead this summer as normal” and that “The Education Secretary will work with Ofqual to put in place alternative arrangements”.
We fully understand the shock of tonight’s announcement, the frustration and concerns that this significant change in policy will cause for us all.
We will update you further later this week with additional details, once they emerge from the DfE, and value your support and patience; as we plan our response to tonight’s announcement.
In the meantime, until we are informed of the specifics, we will continue, in partnership with you, to do our very best to support learning at home and to provide On Site Provision for the children of key critical workers and vulnerable children.
