Information on the Wider Re-opening of Plymstock School in September 2020
Dear Parents and Carers
Further to my letter last week (02 July) I can now share with you the WeST Toolkit2 document, which we are using to plan for re-opening in September. I am sharing this with you so you may see the level and depth of planning we are undertaking.
All schools within WeST will need to work within the DfE guidance, which is under continual review and will be updated as more evidence about the virus emerges. Decisions will always be balanced between the need to be safe, whilst providing educational value/benefit.
The document provides structured thinking about the mitigation of risk that will support the creation of a safe environment and offer reassurance to the school community. Our view is that the measures suggested in this document are not an all or nothing approach. Leaders at Plymstock School are now devising plans that are appropriate to our site, student numbers and context inline with the DfE guidance and WeST toolkit2.
As promised in my letter of 02 July, I will write again to all Parents and Carers before 17 July with the framework for re-opening our School.
